Availability of Personal Hotspot/Tethering

Hello,

I have an unlocked iPhone 6s Plus on Rogers in Canada. I have the ability to use Personal Hotspot, but was wondering if Personal Hotspot is a limitation put on by the carrier or not. If I were to switch to a different provider, would I lose Personal Hotspot?

Thanks!

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 9.3.1

You are absolutely correct - it is carrier mediated - since the data used by the PH comes from or is supplied by the carrier

When I had a brief time with Sprint - the PH was not functional in my phone

When I switched to T Mo with a plan that includes PH - it shows up

You may want to check if your new provider offers this functionality on iPhone
