Very poor battery life on Wi-Fi... Any fixes?!

IiPod touch 6G here. Love the device, but as soon as Wi-if goes on the battery life takes a HUGE hit. I'm not talking the usual slow drain as you can see with an iPad or iPhone, but cliff-diving, parachute jumping type declines! It makes me want to avoid using Wi-Fi with the device, which is a shame.

Are there are any solutions to this?!

I've tried turning off all background refreshes (apps, mail, etc.) and even once tried resetting the entire device, but to no avail.

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
