track gets muted

logic 10.2.2. hello - can there be something turning a track muted on and off? I unplugged my controller to make sure that is not causing an issue.

i unmute a track, and then start playback - the track gets muted when I play the song.

I unmute it again while song is playing, but when I stop playback, it goes back to muted.

Am I going crazy...?
