Q: Saving text messages to iMac

Can text messages on a Pantech P2030 phone (flip phone, not a smart phone) be saved to your iMac so they aren't lost.

iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

    Hi,

There are apps out there that can "read" iOS (iPhone) files and save them PDFs.

    Phone View is one http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/

I would guess there are other for other OS driven devices.

An iPhone can use it's Home Button and the top button to cause it to take a Screen Shot.

A long conversation could be time consuming but it is another method.

If you contact your cellular service provider, for example Verizon. I know for Verizon you can access your text message through MyVerizon and I assume you can save them to your Mac like you can for your contacts.

If you are at least able to view your texts from online, you could copy and paste the texts into a text editor (ex. Word or Pages) and store your text messages in documents. This could be convenient for separating text messages by conversation.
