Q: iphone 6s plus audio volume is low

Hello!

I own an iphone 3gs and an iphone 6s plus. I just found out that the maximum audio volume on my iphone 6s plus is at least 2 steps lower than on my iphone 3gs. I live in Europe Greece and I wanted to ask if this has something to do with EU sound regulations, or if this just apple's design, or maybe flaw?

So please if anyone owns older iphones and the iphone 6s plus please. Have you noticed any differences between maximum audio output between your iphone models? Is that ok, or should I contact service?

Thank you for any answer.

We currently have a 4S, 5S, 6 plus and SE in our home and have not noticed a material difference but then we seldom turn the volume all the way up

Thank you for your answer. My sound is not distorted at all. I think sound quality for 6s plus is a bit better than 3GS. Just the maximum volume is lower than 3GS. It is not low, just a bit lower than the 3GS. I wouldn't call it a problem... it's just nice to have that extra power when you are listening to music at noisy places.

By searching the internet I found that maximum volume setting is lowered due to European regulations, but this is not official opinion by any means. You say that you haven't noticed any differences. Do you live in Europe, or in US?

Is there a way to amplify the volume even more by using 3rd party software?

I also did a volume test with my ipad 2. The iphone 6s plus maximum volume sounds the same when I lower the maximum ipad volume by two clicks.

So I ask again... Is this by design, or it is just my device? Should I contact technical support?

I also tested Equalizer, a free player - equalizer app, that manages higher audio outputs. It works and now my 6s plus sounds almost like, if not louder than my 3GS and iPad 2. Sound has high quality, so it seems a software issue, or feature... I don't really know... But it bothers me still. I expected a uniformity among idevices.

hi we are having the same issues on iPhone 6s Plus. I was playing music on mine in full volume when suddenly it dropped volume and I never got the same full volume experience again. I've tried everything too and it really seems like a software issue which is sad because I've only had this phone less than a week.

Can you give an update on your low volume issues? and can you give more information on this app you said you used that made the audio output better? Would really appreciate it, thanks.
