How can I copy all of my (999) documents to iCloud?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

If you have enough iCloud Storage space you can add them to iCloud Drive. A copy will remain on the computer though.

You are welcome. To give you a good answer, I'd have to see where your documents are and how they are organized. If they are all in your User/Documents folder, drag the entire folder or applicable sub folders to iCloud Drive. You can select documents with in a folder by clicking the first one and then holding down the command key while you select others. Then drag to iCloud Drive.
