Q: What do I need to do to get my macbook pro early 2015 to run cooler?

My macbook pro always gets really, really hot when running iMove or Photoshop. I am wondering if there is anything I can upgrade or do so that it doesn't get so hot.

Try not running too many applications at the same time especially RAM intensive apps such as Photoshop or iMovie.

I close all my applications before running either iMove or Photoshop. It is also really well ventilated. Is there anything else I can do?

Anti virus software can overheat your Mac if installed.

Ambient temperature can have a profound affect on the internal temperature of a MBP. A fan can also help dissipating the heat.

Addendum: The applications that you mentioned are inherently resource intensive and will always generate a lot of heat.
