How do you add a caption to a photo on an iPhone 6S?
One cannot add a caption to a photo per se
BUT one can "send" the photo to a program like Notes and add a caption there
Look for a 3rd party app like Photogene to do that.

Your mileage may vary. Any advice given is based on my experience. I have purchased shareware/commercial software in any advice given and have no financial interest in any products mentioned.
You used to be able to comment on photos in iCloud Photo Sharing. I assume you still can so that is an option if you put your photos in your photo stream.
Or you can group your photos by album.
I tried that but couldn't make it work. I brought up the photo, hit the "Send" icon at the bottom of the screen and then hit "Add to Notes." I put in the caption I wanted and hit Save. I closed out and went to Notes. Nothing. I went back to Photos and brought the photo up again. Nothing. I must be doing something wrong. Any more specific tips for me?
Are you trying to name the photo or just caption it?
Caption it.
?????
Sorry for the delay in responding
Are you on the current version of Notes -
Here are my particulars
I am on IOS 9.3.1 and only use Notes in the Cloud - the On my phone option is OFF
I just tried it
Select a photo - then forward to note
Type your caption -
You have to select New or Existing Note
It should be there in Notes when you open - see screen shots - I tried with both new and existing note
Let me check all this out. Back later tonight or tomorrow. I am not using Noes in the Cloud - only on my iPhone.
