i have an apple tv gen 4 device and purchases get rejected but purchases work on my gen 3 device

When I attempt to rent movies on my gen 4 apple tv I get prompted for my CVV and my account password. When I enter them I get a failure message.

When I then switch to my gen 3 apple tv which is setup with the same account I can make purchase rentals without issue.

Any Ideas?

Try reentering the info in iTunes instead of via the ATV. Then try again on the ATV.

i reentered my CC number in iTunes

logged out of itunes account on atv

logged into itunes account on atv

was able to make a purchase
