Time Machine certainly backs up the contents of ~/Library.
Please explain in more detail what you are trying to do.
Go to your Finder Go menu and hold the option key to choose Library. Thenchoose the Library folder and press +J. In the get info box checkmark “Show Library”. at the bottom of the window.
Your next TM backup should have ~/Library visible.
With a finder window open, high light my user name, click GO, and a drop down menu appears.
While the drop down menu is there, I can make Library appear by holding the option key and
when I release the option key, Library goes away. The same thing works if AirDrop,
All My Files, Applications, etc are high lighted. So the next step is to press +J. But to press +J,
I must release the option key. I am stuck.
If I click on the FINDER icon on the bottom of my screen, it opens with "All My Files" high lighted.
If I click GO, a drop down menu appears.
At this point, Library will appear when the option key is pressed, and go away when the option
key is released.
A left mouse click on Library will change the finder window to Library (Library across the top)
Then choose the Library folder and press +J.
Command-J is the shortcut for "View Options", which you can also choose off a menu if you prefer.
It is possible MacJack meant to write Command-I, which opens the GetInfo window, which can also be chosen off a menu if you prefer.
(EDITED)Try it this way on your Go menu, click on "Go" menu and enter Home then pull down the View menu. Now, From the View menu choose "Show view options". At the bottom of the window checkmark "Show Library folder".
Yes Grant, choosing the Home folder and Get Info is correct. I over complicated it.
Thank you Grant.
Thank you Macjack.
