Shooting Video at Live Events - Simple Change to iOS Camera App

As an avid fan of live music I appreciate that people like to record videos of the concert with their iPhones. However, due to the size and brightness of the iPhone screen, recording videos at concerts is obtrusive and distracting to everyone else in the crowd. This is especially true on the dance floors of theatres and rock clubs.

As a simple fix the Camera app can be modified to include a "live event" recording mode. When using this recording mode the the screen would turn off after a short period of time (e.g., 3 seconds) and the video would continue to record. The red light and timer at the top of the screen and the shutter button at the bottom of the screen would remain visible to show the user the video is recording and to enable the user to end the recording (by pressing the shutter button). Since the app is already managing the focus and color adjustment, the user, and more importantly everyone else in the crowd, does not need to see the video being recorded on the screen.

Please consider this simple change that would continue to allow iPhone users to record videos and will allow crowds to be free from the distraction of the screen.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.1
