I just want to know what should I do if there was a pop up that said I should download it to keep my mac from the "latest" viruses.

Help me 🙂

Ignore it. Any legitimate security updates will be downloaded quietly by the OS or appear in the Mac App Store’s Updates tab.

It is linked to random popups on my mac both Safari and Chrome. It would be useful to know how to remove it.
