Q: Adding music to iTunes but won't sync to iPhone 6s

Hi...

I have an iPhone 6S and the most updated iTunes on my MacBook and most updated iOS (9.3.1) on my iPhone 6S... I've been adding music to my iTunes library from the "Add to Library..." option in the File menu and the songs have been adding to iTunes and playing in iTunes on my MacBook just fine but they either won't sync at all to my iPhone or they'll show up under My Device tab with a dotted gray circle next to them indicating that they won't play, and they're not listed in Music on my device at all in either case.  I can't find any way to fix this, I have never had this problem before, I tried saving the files both as mp3 and wav files and it doesn't seem to make a difference, I tried saving them as different names and that doesn't seem to make a difference either.  I've restarted my phone and my computer, I've signed out and re-signed in to iCloud, and I've tried the "manually manage music and videos" check box but for some reason when I try to turn off iCloud library so that I'm able to have the option to manually manage music and videos, I can turn it off on my phone, but when I connect to iTunes, it still shows that my iCloud library is switched on... not sure if that's my problem or not, but I'm getting really frustrated with this!  I just added a song to my library a little over a week ago that was a wav file that transferred and plays just fine.  HELP PLEEEEASE!

    Hello there, one2skate.

It sounds like you are trying to manually manage the content on your iPhone 6s and are unable to. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some good pointers on troubleshooting:

Move content from iTunes on your computer to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

By default, iTunes manages the content of your iTunes library (including your music, TV shows, movies, and more) manually, which gives you control over the content you want to take with you on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. This is useful if your iTunes library contains more items than can fit on your device.

If you're a member of Apple Music or have an iTunes Match subscription, you have iCloud Music Library turned on. When you have iCloud Music Library turned on, you can't manually manage music. You can still manage videos using the steps below.

    {...}

If you can't manually add or remove content from your device

Check to make sure that the "Manually manage music and videos" option is turned on:

    1. Connect your device to your computer.
    2. Open iTunes. Make sure that you have the latest version.
    3. Locate and click on your device.
Icon of iOS device in iTunes
    4. In the left sidebar, click Summary.
    5. Scroll down to the Options section.
    6. Click the box next to "Manually manage music and videos."
    7. Click Apply.

You might see a message that your device is synced with another library. This means that you've used a different computer to sync your device in the past, and iTunes can't sync without first erasing and replacing all iTunes content on your device.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

    Kind Regards.

I'm having the exact problem with my iPhone 6S+ and I've tried these options. Are there any other solutions?
