Have you acquired Mountain Lion before? You need the physical DVD, it was not distributed electronically.
Hi Courcoul, maybe I am missing something. This mac was delivered with Lion... So ML should be in the Appstore?
greets, Lex
Only if he acquired it on its release. Else you only get the latest and purportedly greatest. Since I made it a habit to "get" each and every one, my Purchased list contains every OS since the Lion.
Ahh, when he "jumped over" ML, you mean?
Yes, I always download ,even when I have no (immediate) desire to really install it...
This a question then for the OP.
But how can i download ML when its not Even a option in app store since i only had this computer for 2 years IT came new from store with yosemeti
You wrote this in your post: "MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)".
MBP mid 2012) when new was delivered with Lion (10.7) !!
Yosemite came about late 2013....
To address your question, if you never installed Mt. Lion, it can be purchased from the Apple online store:
http://www.apple.com/shop/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion
You can install it on a separate HDD or partition your current internal HDD and install it there.
Since your 2012 MBP came with Lion, an older OSX, it should be compatible.
Ciao.
TThanks but IT says
I Dont have lion installed
Aha, now we are getting somewhere. Obviously we have a communication isse here.
SnowLeopard is not possible, original OS was Lion. And you say Lion is not installed but Yosemite.
Please download etrecheck here: http://etrecheck.com
read about it on the site, download it, then run it and post the list here.
That is the info on the download description on ml does That mean that cant install IT IF i dont have lion priory installed
part of the misunderstandings here: on your mac you can install Lion and all newer OS, not an older OS than it was originally delivered with, so not SnowLeopard and older. How you acquire the OSX is different: when you jumped an OSX it is not in the Appstore to download as Courcoul explained.
If you post the etrecheck list and explain again exactly what you want to do, it is easier for us to help you achieve that.
