change link formatting

When you copy and paste, drag/drop a link into your post, it automatically replaces the name displayed URL with the title of the Page..

While this looks better than displaying the URL... the actual link is now hidden, and most won't hover over the link just to see where the page leads,, they'll just click it..

Anyway to change this behavior when creating new posts with links?

Yes.

EXAMPLE:

For internal Apple links that auto-title

  1. Paste the URL, it will auto-title.
  2. Command + Z to undo
  3. Command + SHIFT + Z to RE-do = this will show the bare URL without auto-titling

This effectively invokes "Bare URL" feature of the tool that appears on most URLs when you click the text cursor once in the pasted Link

User uploaded file

(internal to ASC seems to be the exception)

As I may have only intimated, I stumbled upon the "Z" stuff by making mistakes! 😎

I believe there is MUCH that we are not privy to since there is NO User Guide, searchable or otherwise , nor a tutorial for the Apple version of Jive

Jive

... seems more open about it

In reality, we are really talking about TinyMCE "rich text editor" built-into all Jive software > https://www.tinymce.com/

TinyMCE is as configurable as Jive is... Here's a thread discussing why a User Guide is untenable > http://community.tinymce.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=20021

It appears as though some implementers have done so, however > https://www.google.com/search?num=20&newwindow=1&q=tinymce+end+user+guide
