iMessage / SMS

Good day


I may be repeating a question that may be asked before, kindly do forgive.

I am a newbie to apple products, I have an iPhone 6S with the 9.3.1 IOS version.

My question would be, is it possible to manually select which service you intend to send as when using the message functionality. Basically can I select if am using IMessage or SMS when sending messages.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.1

No. You can turn on a setting that will send iMessages as SMS if iMessages fails but that's it. If the person has iMessage, messages you send will go as iMessages. If they don't, they will go as SMS.
