4th Generation Apple TV no longer finding iTunes library through homeshare???

I just purchased this 4th generation Apple TV three days ago. Initially it was a huge success and allowed me to stream content from my late 2012 MacMini running 10.10.5 Yosemite and iTunes 12.3.3.7 with no trouble. On day two of ownership it had a some hiccup but was easily worked around with a reboot of both machines and resigning in to the various i-accounts. TODAY is where I have hit a brick wall. My 4th gen ATV is no longer finding my MacMini on my network. My Mid 2013 MacBook Air has no trouble 1) finding the MacMini 2) screen sharing the MacMini and 3) sharing the MacMini's library. Both the MBA and the MM are running 10.10.5 and 12.3.3.7 in OS X and iTunes respectively.

I have tried...

- rebooting both ATV and MM

- Checking for latest software updates

- signed out and back in on both ATV and MM in all of the apple accounts

- checked my router's ports (5353)

- Checked internet signal strength (ATV reports "5 dots" and the MM is right next to the router with full signal strength)

- Checked that the i-accounts and homeshare was all set to the same iTunes account

- Checked that the two devices were on the same wifi network

- Checked for firmware updates to my router

- Made sure the MM wakes for wifi access on the network

The ATV has no trouble logging on to Netflix or any other app, no other device (iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air) has any trouble accessing the internet and my MacBook Air can both SEE and INTERACT with the MacMini. My MacBook Air's iTunes can even interact with the MacMini's library through homeshare. I do not know what else to do or try to make this work. Any trouble shooting tips or strategies that I have missed would be greatly appreciated. If I cannot resolve these problems this week I will attempt the PLEX solution or just return the ATV and run something else because this is ridiculous.

Thanks to anyone who provides feed back.

I was having almost the exact same issue where i could have the iMac in question AirPlay to the apple tv but it wouldn't show up in home sharing on the Apple TV.

After logging out of everything, deautherizing then reauthorizing, I ended up reseting the Apple TV and thats so far been a success.

I agree that there was nothing magical to get them to connect, its just trying a few different things until it works

Current tvOS is 9.2.

I've checked the firewall on the computer and it is off.

I did a reset on the ATV. Still no go.

The ATV will see the MacBook Air but not the MacMini.

I've switched the Mini from wifi to direct connect to the router. Still no go.

I've rebooted the router and the modem. And something clicked.

So somewhere in that string of events one or more elements made the two talk again. Sounds like a new trouble shooting guide to reconnect homeshare devices. Thanks for the attempt. Hopefully this post will help others who are having similar troubles.
