Q: Monoprice 10509 resolution with macbook
So I got a macbook with USB-C port and bought the adaptor for VGA input (+ power + usb). I plugged the external display into the macbook but I can't get the native resolution for this Monoprice 10509 monitor (which is 2560 x 1440). I tried all the tricks on other forum posts but can't seem to figure out what's going on. Ideas?
MacBook, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

VGA can't handle that resolution. You need to use the display's dual-link DVI port. There are adapters, but I haven't found one that will allow you to charge the MscBook while using a DVI display.
