iTunes installer error message

Upon attempting to install the latest iTunes on Window 10 (but had this error in Win 7, too):

Error Message:

"There is a problem with this installation package. A program required for the install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personel or package vendor."

How can I complete the installation?

Thanks,

Rebecca

Hi,

I had the same problem and I just found the answer.

- Go to Control Panel

- Go to Programs and Features

- Find a program called Bonjour, right clic on it, then clic Repair.

- Find a program called Apple Software Update, right clic on it, then clic Repair.

- Expend Windows Start Menu, look for Apple Software Update and launch it.

Now you can see available updates for Apple softwares.

- First, only update Bonjour if available.

- Then only update Apple Software Update if available.

If one of those return an error, relaunch Apple Software Update. On the top menu, clic Tools, then clic Download only.

Once downloaded, a window will open to show you the files. Right clic one the file, then clic Install. Bonjour First, then Apple Software Update.

Bonjour and Apple Software Update are now repaired and up to date.

- Expend Windows Start Menu, look for Apple Software Update and launch it.

- Look for updates.

- Install iTunes update. (in my case, that worked)

- If an error occurs, try doing the same as above with Download only for the iTunes update.

Hope this help

That's pretty much what I ended up doing.

I went into apps in the install/uninstall area in system.

Put in Apple and hit repair on all of them.

Then it allowed me to install it.

Just after found I had to reinstall iCloud due to the upgrade to Windows 10.

Not too many programs or devices worked after the system upgrade to 10.

Not too handy but getting to each thing as I need them and finding they don't work.

Time consuming.
