I have just added a CD into iTunes 'Add folder to library' which went OK. The tracks are now showing under 'Recently Added' but I am having problems adding these tracks into my playlists. Any pearls of wisdom? Thanks

Don't forget, you can only add songs to regular Playlists, but not to a Smart Playlist or a Playlist folder.

Nothing happens! I try to drag the song into a playlist but it won't move. I believe the songs are in a normal playlist.

It's not where they are already, it's where you are trying to put them.
As mentioned, you can only drag songs into Regular Playlists.
What happens if you right-click/Add to Playlist and then choose from the list of Playlists that appears on the right?
