Silence previous patch not working

Hi all, I'm having sporadic issues with the "silence previous patch" function, and the inverse (patches not being silenced)... I'd estimate that it's working about 60% of the time, but it's pretty close to a coin flip. I've tried to eliminate it as a necessary function in my live show, but there is one instance where i need the previous patch to be silenced, and one instance where i need the previous patch's audio to sustain, and at my last show, neither worked. 😢

If it's helpful, in both cases there are aliases involved, although I'm fairly sure it happens with single-instance instruments as well.

Any ideas on this? Mainstage is a buggy disaster in edit mode, locking up for 20-30 seconds at a time every few minutes, but this is the only real issue I'm having in perform mode.
