Most Safari icons have no title - default to no_title

This has gone on for a long time, but now I have a new MacBook Pro so it's time to get this working.

Most of the icons on the "home" page of safari are labeled NO_TITLE since one of the updates last year. How do I fix this??

Thanks for your help!

If your Mac is running v10.6.3 as your profile suggests, you may have better luck using a different browser such as Firefox.

Keep in mind, Apple has not provided security updates for v10.6 Snow Leopard in years.

If you have upgraded to a newer OS X, please click the Apple  top left in your screen.

From the drop down menu click: About This Mac

Which version do you see? Troubleshooting advice can depend on that information.

You may have a corrupted Safari backup. Suggest going to Settings > iCloud > and disabling Safari there.

Then try resetting Safari. Close Safari completely from the app switcher window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the Safari preview pane until it disappears from the screen. You may have to look for the Safari pane by scrawling to the left. Then go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. Then do a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Then go back and enable Safari backups in iCloud.

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - enable the Develop menu, then go there and Empty Caches. Quit/reopen Safari and test. Then try Safari/History/Show History and delete all history items. Quit/reopen Safari and test. You can also try try Safari/Clear History…. The down side is it clears all cookies.Doing this may cause some sites to no longer recognize your computer as one that has visited the web site. Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library./Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db and move it to the trash.

Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem.
