Is there a hidden way to control the resulting file name of QTs made with compressor 4.2.2? Specifically i'd like to remove the "-" between the original file name of the QT and the appended name from compressor.
Currently:
"movie_100.mov" when processed with a custom preset called "_custom" becomes "movie_100-_custom.mov"
I'd like the resulting name to be:
movie_100_custom.mov
Is this possible somehow?

If you double click in the File Name field in the Batch area to make it active, you should be about to delete the dash.

Thanks Russ, that does work but I still have to do it on every file. You know of a way to set the global behavior for all clips in a batch?
Afraid that I don't know any other way other than to change them individually.
I doubt there is a way but perhaps someone else knows of one.

You can set up custom naming with Locations. Scroll down to "Set a custom location’s filename format":
