Imessage problems

This an iOS problem not a OSX problem but i didnt know anywhere else to post it:


Basically, the other day i found i was logged out of my email that i use for imessage and Facetime. I tried to sign back in but couldnt remember the password, so I went to reset the password and as I no longer have access to that email, I sent it to my secondary email. This then transferred the apple id to my secondary email. But all my family and friends use the primary email to contact me. I tried adding it back in through appleid.apple.com and send & receive on my iPad, but it says i need to verify it. So when i go to the iForgot.apple.com website I type it in and it says '(myemail)@(mydomain).com is not an apple id


Help Please!!!
