google chrome tab doesn't open full size

When I open Google Chrome, Safari, or any other internet search engine, the tab doesn't open at full size. How to I change my settings to ensure that the tab opens at a full screen size?

Window - Zoom

If that works for you and you want to set up a keyboard shortcut

 - System Preferences - Keyboard - Shortcuts - App shortcuts

Click on + - type in Zoom and add a key combination - (I use ⌘+shift+z)

Click ok

Then when an app opens less than full screen - click that combination - you should be on your way
