Mac OS XYou can change a setting that will allow the display to stay on for 70 seconds if you tap the screen. But there is no way to keep it on continuously.

To clarify: this only keeps the display awake for up to 70 seconds. If the wrist is lowered during that time (as may be likely when working out) the screen will sleep again.
