My MagSafe Charger turns Green and Stop Charging when I execute an app like a game

Hi.

My charger works normally until I start an app which demands a lot of energy. When I do this, the orange light turns green and stop to charge. When I close this app, light turns orange again instantly and becomes charging again.

Someone have this problem?

On my case its occurs when I execute a game or a video on quicktime or mplayerx.

Already tried to calibrate battery and reset SMC. Battery healty is now 85%.

Now I use OS X El Capitan latest version but it occurs in OS X Mavericks too.

On Mavericks shows a message (Verify battery) too, on El Capitan dont.

Have a Macbook Pro 2010.

Please help.

A 2010 MBP's battery does not need to be calibrated. You are just adding a needles cycle to the battery and shortening its useful life.

What you are probably experiencing is a rare but 'normal' circumstance when the MBP requires more power than the charger can provide, and then taps the battery to supplement the difference.

You can avoid running those applications that require more power than the charger can provide and thus eliminate tapping the batteries resources, or make certain that when you do run those energy intensive applications that the battery is fully charged when you start.

Apparently you are taxing the limits of the MBP and there is no alternative but accept and live with those conditions.

Perhaps if were to diversify your interests in non-computer endeavors such a horticulture and/or beekeeping, then you could mitigate this situation. 😁
