I Think that what Niel means is that if your apps are still associated with an old Apple ID - you should delete them and purchase them again with the new ID. However, this is only necessary if you created a new Apple ID. If you changed the Apple ID because you got a new email address, the old apps should still be associated with that ID,

Buy them again with your new ID. Or put the password in for the old ID they were purchased with. Those are your options.
IT wouldn't let me use my old old password. Said had to be one that wasn't use in the past 7 months.
There is a difference between creating a new Apple ID and changing an Apple ID. If you got a new email address, you don't have to create a new Apple ID, you just have to update the ID to reflect the new email address. This explains how to change your Apple ID.
