iCal Viewing Issues - Both Month and Week

When looking at your calendar in MONTH view, is there any way to look at 3 or 4 weeks rather than 6 weeks? I can't see half of my appointments, even with the text VERY small...

ALSO

When looking at your calendar in WEEK view, the current day should be on the far left of the screen, so you can see forward... why would I want to see the prior Monday when it's later in the week?

Any help?

The functionality of this software could be greatly improved with a look at Microsoft Entourage from 2004... which is ridiculous....
