I cannot send photos with my iPad air

HEllo- i have an iPad air that I enjoy using. But now, for some reason, it will no longer send photos.

i've read these threads. I generally try to either 'insert photo or video'. Or I go to the photo itself, and hit the button that brings up what I wish to do, and I hit the 'mail' button. Neither of these methods work any longer.

if in an email, I press the screen and 'insert photo' comes up. I say yes, my photos show up. I choose the one I want, the little white clock spins, and a small window showing the photo appears with the option of "use" or "cancel".

I Select "use" and the little window simply disappears and no photo os in my mail.

if I go tot he photo and try and send from iPhoto, it goes through all of the normal steps, but when it goes back to the mail, there IS no photo in it, and when sent/received, there still is no photo.

I Have rebooted ( hit/held home and sleep until the apple appears...). No help. I've tried resetting/correcting my mail passwords... No help.

none of these threads have helped me. Why did this suddenly happen? my iPhone works perfectly in this area, the iPad has changed.
