Hi
I am unable to check for updates for my ipad mini 2. When I tried to connect it to my computer to update it through itunes it says that it could not connect to this computer and unknown error has occurred. I have tried a hard reset on the ipad twice no luck. I dont know what else to do? Any ideas? I cant update anything on in itunes and my son uses it for school.

You could try recovery mode. Hopefully you have a backup in iTunes already so you can restore it.
Recovery Mode:
Turn off your iOS device.
Connect the device charging cable to the computer only (not to the device yet).
Open iTunes on your computer.
Press and hold the power button on your device and don’t let go.
Connect the cable to the device while keeping the power button pressed down.
Wait until the computer detects the device and wait for it to restore.
Restore as New first and then restore from backup(s) if desired.
