May 2, 2016 6:32 PM in response to Chandra25by Grant Bennet-Alder,The speed of Drop depends on the copy speed of BOTH the Source and the Destination drives. Copying a lot of large files from or to a slow external drive takes a while, even if the other drive involved is plenty fast.

May 2, 2016 7:19 PM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby Chandra25,I'm not copying anything. I'm just playing a game: Words with Friends. I double tap with one finger to pick up the tile and drag it to where I want it. Then I lift my finger and the tile drops. But, it's slower than it used to be. I want to speed it up. Thanks.

May 3, 2016 7:20 AM in response to Chandra25by Chandra25,I forgot to answer your question on why the Mac was serviced. I believe the video card went out. It was considered a "known issue" for this model MacBook Pro and was serviced for free despite the machine being long out of warranty.

May 3, 2016 8:49 AM in response to Chandra25by lllaass,4 GB of memory is marginal. More memory will make it somewhat faster.

Also, can you try another browser or close and then reopen FireFox?

Also, if you reboot and only open minimum number of apps and browser windows it is "fast" and gets slow the longer you play?

May 3, 2016 3:43 PM in response to lllaassby Chandra25,Hi,
I rebooted and opened only Firefox and it is still about the same. I guess what is odd is that before the repair, I don't remember it being a problem. I will look into buying more RAM though don't use my Mac for all that much, apart from Internet and Photos. Anyhow, it is not the end of the world. Thanks for trying to help.

May 4, 2016 8:07 AM in response to Chandra25by thomasharrick,If you would like to speed up the drag, Cmd+Space and type "terminal" and hit enter. Then type the following line:
defaults write -g NSAutoscrollResponseMultiplier -float 3This will increase the dragging speed, but i'm not sure in a game like words with friends. Hope this helps!<Personal Information Edited by Host>

May 4, 2016 7:13 PM in response to thomasharrickby Chandra25,Thomas, the dragging speed is fine and I know to do that in the Accessibilty control panel area. It's the dropping speed that seems to have slowed down from what it used to be before I got my Mac repaired.
Thanks.

May 5, 2016 5:11 PM in response to lllaassby Chandra25,Thanks but I am afraid to try all of that. I will just live with the slower drop speed for now.
