I guess that is where I was getting confused. You would have thought that iMovie 10 would be the older one and iMovie 11 would be the current one. Guess I was wrong. Thanks Rich!
(laughs) Many others have been confused about that, including me.
In the past Apple referred to iMovie versions by the date of the iLife version they were part of. So the iMovie that came with iLife 2011 was referred to as iMovie '11 (the apostrophe is important) when in fact it was version 9. Similarly iMovie '09 was version 8. Now they use the version number - much more sensible.
