how do i sign on to my ipad mini when i have been disabled? help please

oh excuse me... i need help signing back into my ipad mini....i forgot my password. and was disabled. it tells me to connect to itunes but I can't because Itunes tells me I need to sign on to my ipad? please advise... p.s. sorry if i don't have the correct information above.. couldn't figure it out..
