Does Apple HomeKit send any notification to device in emergency?

Hi,

I am working on implementing HomeKit in my App, I struck at a point, where If any emergency situation happen at home like(smoke alarms, door unlocked, window broken,....), at this point of time, Does Apple HomeKit sends any notification to device or not? Does iCloud will be responsible for sending push notifications to device?
