I JUST created a fingerprint and then it asked me to add a passcode for backup, so I did. I hit the sleep/wake button to try it out. It immediately showed the "Enter Passcode" on the screen. It did not accept my fingerprint or the newly created passcode. I powered it off then on. Still will not take my passcode!! 😠ðŸ˜

That's the problem, it won't take my passcode. I can't unlock it.
Try restore from backup using computer iTunes:

Do you think that's the only option? I will lose all my data like my photos, correct? I haven't had a chance to back them up yet.
Can you get passed the lock screen?
If you can't get passed, then that's an option.
Note: If you do not have a backup, it maybe too late now.

Did you by any chance have your phone setup to backup to iCloud? If so you may have a backup there and could restore it.
It might be set to auto backup, I'm not really sure.
Update: Just signed into icloud and got them!! Will restore my phone now.
