How to recover a file after deletion from trash on MacBook Air?

Hi All,

I accidentally deleted an excel file from MacBook Air and instead of recovering from trash, i emptied the trash. It was just a bad day.

Any idea how can i recover file deleted from trash?

This is why using TimeMachine is such a good idea. The file would probably be retrievable - or at least a partial version of it. There are programs that can undelete files - Date Rescue is pretty good at retrieving delete files - with a caveat. If you continue to use the computer the chances that part or all of the deleted file will be overwritten increase. If the file is even partially overwritten you are out of luck. Luckily Data Rescue has a free version that might grab that lost file at no cost to you.
