Activate Iphone 5c with broken 3g antenna

Hi,

I have an iphone 5c of which the connection between the sim tray and the motherboard is broken, probably due to some sort of shortcut, the connection pin on the motherboard is deformed so putting in a new wire is no option cause it will not connect well enough. The phone worked except for mobile connection, no calls, no mobile data.

I made the mistake of resetting the phone and so now I cannot activate it to use as an ipod for the kids.

Anyone has an idea on how I can activate this phone? Just putting in a sim card doesnt help as the phone doesnt detect it the sim.
