Iphone is not seen by itunes, but is seen by PC.

I plug my iphone into my pc, it charges, but itunes will not see it at all. tried everything on the support page. (If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support) also (Reset the Lockdown folder in iTunes - Apple Support). Tried Uninstalling and reinstalling itunes. Restarting computer/iphone. no luck,

i have an oldish laptop i tried connecting my iphone to and itunes found it just fine, so i don't think it has anything to do with the actual phone or cord. Can anyone help me out?
