Apple TV - Computer link to Photos - why are they all greyed out?

On Apple tv (I think I am version 3 - software version 7.2.1), you have two ways you can view your photos.

iCloud Photos seems to allow me to only see the last 349 photos (of 11,000 I have) for some strange reason.

Computers - the photo selection there goes straight in to my full Library. It seems to order it in the way my albums are ordered. However, on AppleTV, all photographs are 'greyed out'. I can't see any of them.

How can I refresh or do anything so I can see these photos?

The iCloud photos app is accessing your photo stream

In order to see your full library you would be using the computers app. Make sure everything is shared through iTunes (file - home sharing - choose photos to share)

Thanks - all photos are available to share, but they are all greyed out (well 99% of them). So if I click on a photo, nothing - no image. Just a grey box. Any ideas?

Then that sounds more like an issue with the images loading.

Reboot ATV and router

Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network)

If on wifi try ethernet

DNS = domain name system, and has to do with where data is being accessed. Everything being discussed related to the Apple TV. Go to settings - general - network. Make sure its set to auto so it is using the DNS supplied by your ISP
