You might check the Netflix site since it's their app. Also, look in the app settings.

Found this info on the Netflix website--haven't tried it yet, but it sounds good!


Enabling subtitles and Closed Captions + SDH on Apple TVs will require that you have tvOS 9.0 or later installed on the device.

To adjust subtitles, alternate audio or Closed Captions + SDH while streaming on your Apple TV 4:

  1. Swipe down the touchpad on your Apple TV 4 remote.
  2. Select your preferred audio, subtitle language, or Closed Caption + SDH options.

Adjust and customize subtitles and closed captions:

Closed Captions + SDH must be adjusted from the Apple TV menu under Settings > General > Accessibility > Closed Captions + SDH before they can be adjusted in the Netflix app.

You can then customize the appearance of subtitles and closed captions on the Apple TV under Settings > General > Accessibility > Subtitles and Captioning > Style.
