Email with large attachment won't send. How do I cancel it?

I sent an email (through my yahoo account but using my mail app on my iMac) with a video attached. Well, the video was apparently too large and is not stuck and won't send. It is driving me crazy as I can't access my mail and it slows everything else down while the rainbow spinning circle will not stop! How do I stop it? I've tried rebooting, restarting, force quitting mail. I am afraid to open up mail app anymore because everytime I do, the spinner starts and I'm doomed! Help!

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Mail menu->Window->Activity There you can stop the sending of the mail.

Problem is, I don't want to open Mail because that's when it starts all over again. Is there a way to get there without going through Mail?

If you think it is a risk, that it may send when opening Mail: disconnect WiFi so that there is no internet connection possible (or the ethernet cable when that is how you are connected), and then open Mail and delete the email.

I have the same problem... But, when I go to "activity" nothing shows up. When I try to go to the outbox to delete, the spinning rainbow starts... Even when I'm not connected to the internet...
