iPhone Alarm Sporadically Not Working Since Updating to iOS 9.3.1

I have an iPhone 6 and the morning after updating to iOS 9.3.1 the recurring alarm didn't wake me up. I thought maybe somehow I turned it off, went back to sleep and just didn't remember but the next morning it happened again. Only this time when I grabbed my phone, I could see that the alarm was still going off but there was no sound even tho the ringer was up. As a test, I set an alarm for the next minute and it went off just fine.

I deleted all of my recurring alarms and added them back as new hoping that would fix whatever bug and it's been working fine for about a month but it happened to me again this morning. I looked at the phone and the alarm wasn't going off silently either.

Has anyone else had a problem?? I guess I'll be buying an actual alarm clock since I'm not able to trust my phone.

.. APPLE can you fix this issue please!!!

Considering that you are in a user to user support forum, you are not going to get any information from Apple, and they are not going to see your post.

Next, since this is a random issue, it is difficult to address. Let me ask you this, what troubleshooting have you tried? Is this a single alarm, or a repeating alarm? Have you tried deleting the alarm and adding it back again? I've not experienced any alarm issues, and I have about 7 different repeating alarms that I've had on my phones for sometime, and with different iOS updates haven't had one fail. There was an iOS update sometime back where some users experienced issues with repeating alarms, but that has not occurred again.

Try a forced restart - After shutting down all open apps using the app switcher - invoked by quick double press of the home button and swiping up on each app till it flies off the screen.

Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons down together till you see  logo - then release and allow normal boot up

Also try to use a different sound in Settings - Sounds and see if that has an impact

I regret that I have had this same problem spasmodically for the last 12 months. Usually when i change the alarm setting I would turn the phone off then on and until today this fixed the problem. Today it did not i had taken a day off work to go skiing which i was really looking forward to. the alarm did not go off. i set two alarms as this feature has become so unreliable in the iPhone i set a second alarm 1 hour after the first. Well i had changed the first alarm from 7am to 5am, this one did not go off, but my second alarm i had set for 8am did go off. this is a simple function in the iPhone and Apple cannot get it to work relaibly. if you google iphone alarm not working the number of comments is extensive. This is clearly a signficant bug in the iPhone, Apple are becoming just like Microsoft put out there crap software partially tested, the attitude that us the poor user has no other option. We are being treated with such disrespect, yet we are paying their wages.

i have solved the problem now i went out and bought a simple bed side alarm clock and deleted all the alarms i had setup on the iphone. i wonder if Andriod have this sort of problems also. my contract is up at the end of the year might be time for a change. i love my iPhone but if it does not work reliably what is the point.

What kind of troubleshooting have you done for this, besides you saying you turned the phone off and on after setting an alarm? I know you probably don't want to hear this, but I'm on iOS 9.3.3, have used every iOS before that and have never experienced an alarm issue. I have several alarms set to ring on specific days of the week, and at multiple times of the day. I'm a college professor and use them to remind me to get out of my office and head to a classroom. I tend to get very involved in my office and it works great for me.

User troubleshooting steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore to factory; testing after each step. If you are having the same problem as the OP, you must still be on iOS 9.1, so you would also want to update to iOS 9.3.3, the most current iOS. There may be a corrupt file or setting on the phone that could be causing this issue, and the restore may clear that up.

Hi, thanks for the follow up if you have had no troubles then you are lucky. If you google alarm issues iPhone 6 there are numerous people experiencing the issues that i have experienced. i am by trade an electronic engineer specialising designing product for clients and debugging their problems, I do this every day. As the problem is not consistent and does not happen all the time it is very hard to identify the cause, often I will not experience any issues for months at a time. I do not have any odd apps installed. I turn off the phone once a week and restart it. The trouble now is I have totally lost confidence in the phone. Yes I am running 9.3.3. This is the fourth iPhone I have owned as I really like them. If you owned a car that sometimes for no reason would simply not start you would get rid of it, this is where I am at the moment. Apple seem disinterested in helping, there is nothing wrong with the hardware I suspect. It is an iOS bug but most likely dependant on what other apps are running at the time. I realise this is not an easy bug to hunt down. This is the nightmare scenario that I cringe at when I am working debugging hardware/embedded firmware development.
