Sold my son's IPhone and now he can't use Apple ID

Recently sold son's IPhone 4S - forget to reset it before posting - new user reset it (shared unlock data) - now son cannot use his Apple ID and when he tries to sign on it says that Apple ID has been deleted - how can he recover his account? Thanks

You gave the person who bought it the password for the ID? They changed the password and the associated email address... In other words, you gave them the ID and everything belonging to it. Not good. NEVER give anyone the password for your account. You can try contacting Apple's account security team, but you may be hosed, at this point. Your son may have to create a brand new account. If there was a credit card associated with the old account, cancel it. NOW.
