Syncing Problem

I recently updated my iTunes to version iOS 9.3.1, I now am unable to sync my iPhone 6s. Every time I try, a window pops up and says "the iPhone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start". I've tried a few suggestions posted on here but nothing seems to work. Are there any specific problems that have to do with PCs and the new update?

I have a vaguely similar problem. My iPhone SE running iOS9.3.1, when connected to my Mac running the newly upgraded iTunes 12.3.3.17, is not recognized by iTunes, so that I can do nothing with the SE that iTunes should allow, such as synching, backing up, etc. I fully suspect the new iTunes upgrade is at fault and that it was released inadequately tested, making me regret again having trusted Apple. 👿
