Q: Do my current photos upload to icloud?

I've just bought the 50GB iCloud service.

I turned on all the options on both devices.

My iPhone now says it was last updated 8:03pm, and yet NO photos have been uploaded.  If I go to the iCloud screen from the homescreen, it shows only one file in Pages.

Surely in the last 2 hours it would have uploaded at least some of the photos??

Should the albums already on my phone be on the cloud??

Or is it only for NEW albums I create as of today?

Yes, previously created albums should be present on all devices/computers which are synced with ICPL. If they are not yet displayed, perhaps iCloud is still in the process of populating the data.

If my understanding of this process is not correct, I would hope that one of the ASC Photos experts would step in and let you know.

Yes I hope someone does, as there are no albums in All Photos, or in iCloud Photos website.

Also, none of my Notes are showing in the website, or shared across, yet Notes is On in my iPad and iPhone.

All Photos on the iPhone is an Album. On iCloud.com, have you clicked on the "Albums" tab?

In regard to Notes, have you confirmed that your device Settings>iCloud>Notes is activated?

    Albums - found it.

Notes - yes definitely turned on.  And I have about 9 lots of notes on my ipad.  And more on my iphone.  But they aren't the same on each device, and i icloud.com none are in there.

    Simon,

Check this thread Notes not syncing between iOS 9 iPhone and MacBook Pro with El Capitan for comments submitted by Carolyn Samit.

You may also want to apply the "Toggle" off/on for Contacts.

I did notice ipad didn't have the Notes upgrade. but my phone did and as i say, the icloud.com didn't show any in there.

Oddly enough, from my ipad I cannot access icloud.  Is tha tbecause it is meant to show in the iCloud app screen?

Correct, the iCloud App on iOS devices is only capable of organizing files, but those files can be manipulated by the App which created them, or a different application which has the capability to handle them.

After leaving it all running over night, the Notes are nt showing on all.  And none of the notes from other devices are in icloud.com.

    Same for Contacts.

Notes - sorted.  It was because were set to save locally only.

    All now save to iCloud.

Contacts - I've been told why they are not on iCloud, and that I can import a VCard into icloud for each contact.  I have over 300.  And no, I'm not going to do the import process 300 times over.

Is there a way to merge them all into one vcard file to import?

What is the source of your contacts?

If you have access to a computer importing them via iCloud.com is not that tedious, or time consuming.

Additionally, Contacts: Export and import your contacts may be helpful.

I still have 9K photos to upload that are only in my mac. that is the total number of photos that I imported into Photo app. that was 4 weeks ago and still nothing has uploaded, well only the albums (empty) are on icloud.

But my mac do downloaded 2K photos that were in icloud and in all my other devices.

How can I do to force to upload the 9k remaining photos??

Try Settings/iCloud and slide off syncing. Wait a few minutes and then resync.

Have you tried signing out of iCloud and then sign back in?
