Unable to update Safart 6.2.8 on MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.5

You need to upgrade the computer’s OS or switch to a product such as Firefox.

Thanks Niel- I tried the upgrade with disastrous results and many hours on support, loosing some data and eventually being guided to uninstall and restore after trying with support literally for weeks trying to get it right on El Capitan. I am reluctant to try that again. However my OSX no longer receives any updates and am concerned about that too. OY VEY. Just checking if there were any other options that these 2 you mentioned.
