After my mac book was crashed, I cannot boot it anymore. I tried boot from USB to check the hard disk, the hard disk only showed a few hunderd Mb capacity. How can I copy the data out or recover the system without hurt the data?
My mac is:
10.9
Mac pro 2011
Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
Startup your Mac while holding down the Option key. That should launch the Startup Manager window where you can select the startup disk then click Restart.
If the startup disk is grayed out, then that drive has failed and there's no way to retrieve data 😟
This is why it's so important to do backups on a timely basis.
Just what USB did you boot from?
Just what shows only "hunderd Mb capacity"?
Did you try repairing the disk via Disk Utility?
I installed the system in USB flash drive from another computer, and booted from it.
Disk Utility shows hunderd Mb total capacity. I tried verify and repair disk from first aid, but it did not help.
