iPhoneIt still won't let me complete restore even in DFU mode. It just keeps saying unknown error occured and I don't even get a number in error box

I do not get a number in the error message and I have spent the best part of the day, updating/uninstalling programmes that may be conflicting. Do you have any other ideas please

DFU mode is difficult to get into as timing is critical, may have to try several times. If still not successful I would suspect a hardware defect and may have to take your phone to an Apple Store for evaluation.

Thank you very much. It did on itunes the phone was in DFU mode and it does start to restore but only gets 3/4 of the way then an unknown error occurs. Thank you for all your help
