Burning CDs

I have been looking around at all the other posts, and haven't been able to find anything that really addresses my issue.

I can not seem to burn a CD. I've always done it by hitting File > Burn playlist to disc, and iTunes even told me to do that exact thing when I inserted a blank CD, but that option is completely non-existent. It's not greyed out or anything, it's just no longer on the list. I've tried right-clicking, as some have suggested, and going through System Preferences, but I can;t find a single option to click that has anything whatsoever to do with burning a CD. I thought maybe it was because the files weren't MP3s, but when I clicked the "create new version", all the options are greyed out. I've been tinkering with this for hours, and have had no luck at all.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
